HELLO FROM YOUR NEW COMMUNITY MANAGER

Hello Xen Project Community!

I’m Kelly, joining The Xen Project as the new Community Manager.

I thought it would be best that I introduce myself as I get begin to get familiar with my role.

I started my career in marketing, before quickly transitioning into digital optimisation and working with tech teams. More recently, I have been managing software communities and ensuring developers, users, and wider stakeholders all have their voices heard. Ultimately my goal for the project is to create a healthy and thriving community for all and showcase the importance of open source, and the benefits of what we’re doing.

As I spend the next few months getting up to speed and learning different processes with the help from George, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me and I’ll try my best to help where I can.

To share an overview with you, here are the key strategic initiatives I aim to work on:

  • Revamping The Xen Project website, both in terms of content and infrastructure. This will be aligning with the objective to make information accessible and bring higher visibility to the community. In return, we should see more interest and potentially new people wanting to contribute.
  • Event planning – From the Annual Xen Summit to smaller outreach events, our goal here is to encourage brand recognition for the project and reach a wider audience.
  • Social and PR – We all know how important it is to communicate with our audience, but not everyone knows how great The Xen Project is, which is why case studies and social content will excel us forward.

I strongly believe in collaboration, communication, and transparency and will always value feedback, so if you have any questions or ideas, I’ll be sure to make time for you.

For reference, here is the main contact email: community.manager@xenproject.org

Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn too.

I look forward to working with all of you soon!

Kelly
