Xen Project Partners With Outreachy to Promote and Sustain More Diverse and Inclusive Open Source Ecosystem

The Xen Project is excited to be participating in the Outreachy internship program which supports diversity in free and open source software. The Xen Project’s participation in this year’s program is being sponsored by Microsoft (1 internship) and the Xen Project (1 internship). Interns have to make an initial application which primarily verifies eligibility to the Outreachy program by September 24 at 4pm UTC: for more information see here. Applicants with an approved initial application can start to enquire about projects from October 1st and can then formally apply.

During the application period, applicants are expected to contribute to the Xen Project while in parallel working on the detailed application. The final application deadline is Nov. 5, 2019 at 4pm UTC. Applicants interested in becoming a Xen Project Intern can see our projects here and here (link not live until October 1st).

About Outreachy

Outreachy provides internships to work in Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) and is open to applicants around the world. All internships are remote, opening up a wide array of opportunities for interns. Additionally, these are paid internships with other cool perks including travel stipend and access to experienced mentors from FOSS communities. Interns often find employment after their internship with Outreachy sponsors or in jobs that use the skills they learned during their internship.

Outreach expressly invites women (both cis and trans), trans men, and genderqueer people, residents and nationals of the United States of any gender who are Black/African American, Hispanic/Latin@, Native American/American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander to apply. Anyone who faces under-representation, systemic bias, or discrimination in the technology industry of their country is invited to apply.
